Zeitfenster

Den Fokus ins Abseits zu setzen, eine Idee zu notieren, die Notiz als Idee zu zeigen, sind Spiele mit der Natur der Photographie. In sechs Arbeiten werden Zeitfenster gezeigt, Bilder die in einem Prozess gefangen sind und von der Hingabe zum Trivialen und Verschwenderischen dieses Mediums erzählen. Auf den ersten Blick, teils humoristisch, ist das Gegensätzliche in den Arbeiten ein bestimmendes Element dieser Ausstellung. Ihre Motive werden in radikaler Bildlichkeit aufgelöst. Die Attribute der vordergründig sichtbaren Dinge im Bildgeschehen aufgegeben. Ein Mädchen, das das Kolossale eines Panzers kaschiert, die Metapher der Nacht, die sich in einem schwarzen Vogel verliert, sind Parodien auf die Gegenständlichkeit eines Photos. Edith Deyerlings Arbeiten reduzieren auf das Wesentliche eines Bildes: Ihre Textur, Farbe, Form bricht das Bild auf seine Komposition herunter. Was bleibt ist schonungslose Oberfläche und die Spur eines Momentes.

Framing time

Putting the focus offside, notifying an idea, representing the notification as an idea, these are the games played in the process of photography.
With six works, time frames are being shown, photos that are captured in a process and tell about the devotion to the triviale and lavishness of the photographic medium. At first sight partly humorous, it is the contradictions within the works that is a determining aspect of this exhibition.
Her subjects are being disintegrated into radical representativeness, the attributes of the ostensibly visible objects are subsumed by the scenario. A girl is concealing the massiveness of an army tank, the metaphor of the night that gets lost in a black bird, are spoofs on the facticity of a photograph. Edith Deyerlings works reduce the picture to its basic: the texture, colour and form of a picture are broken down into composition.
What remains is a surface without content and the trace of a moment.
